Todd Owens

From an early age Todd spent much of his free time volunteering and working to enhance communities of all shapes, sizes and complexities. Todd has 17 years of experience in non-profit management consulting and executive search and transition-related services. Prior to co-founding Nonprofit Talent with Michelle Heck in 2013, Todd became a Partner at McCrory & McDowell in 2009, and served as a Partner with ParenteBeard after a merger in 2011. During those years he led the non-profit leadership consulting services team in Pittsburgh, whose main concentrations were executive search, succession planning and interim executive leadership. Starting in 2000, Todd worked with his mentor and hero, Kate Dewey at Dewey & Kaye, and served clients as a nonprofit management consultant project manager, facilitator and organizational development consultant. In 1999, Todd was awarded the prestigious Fellowship in Public Affairs with Coro Pittsburgh.

Prior to this Todd worked as a Talent and Tour Manager in the music industry, as well as in the education departments of the Carnegie Science Center and the Seneca Zoo Society. Active civically, he currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Allegheny County Parks Foundation, the Jefferson Awards for Public Service and Venture Outdoors. When not working he spends as much time as possible outside, with his amazing wife Jami, and their two French bulldogs. He graduated cum laude and President of the Senior Class with a Bachelor’s degree from Bethany College, and received his Masters of Science degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University.
